Prior to peer review, all manuscripts are submitted to iThenticate to verify originality of content. Peer review process may last 9-11 weeks.
Copyright
Authors submitting manuscripts do so on the understanding that the work has not been previously published and, if the manuscript is accepted for publication, that the copyright will be transferred to the Regents of the University of Colorado. Copyright transfer forms will be sent to the author if and when the manuscript is accepted for publication.
Processing Fee
To help cover ever-increasing costs, the journal has instituted a mandatory $200 processing fee for all manuscripts that are accepted for publication. Payment of this fee entitles the author to a free, one-year subscription, including online access. If the fee presents a hardship, authors may request a waiver.
Page Charges
In addition to the mandatory fee, full or partial payment of $85 per page will be charged to authors whose institutions or research grants are able to pay page charges. Ability to pay these charges is not considered a condition for publication, but any contribution toward cost of publication is welcomed.
Color Charges
Authors are charged $300 per journal page for color. If an author prefers to have color on the Internet only, the charge is $80 per image.
Proofs
Page proofs are sent to authors via e-mail as pdf files. Pdf files of page proofs may not be reproduced or distributed.
Reprints
An order form with price list will be sent by the printer to the corresponding author prior to publication.
