Financial
assistance for graduate students
Financial assistance
is available for graduate student presenters from any country thanks
to support from the National Science Foundation (USA). Graduate students
who attend the 32nd Arctic Workshop and give either an oral presentation
or a poster presentation will receive support for the following costs:
- Registration
Fee
- Meals for
up to 4 days on a per diem basis (up to ~$20 student/day, dinner provided
on Thurs & Fri)
- Motel/hotel
charges, shared occupancy, for up to 4 nights (up to $50/student/night)
If you are travelling by yourself
to the workshop and need a roommate to share hotel costs, please email
ArcticWS@colorado.edu
and we will attempt to connect you with others looking for a roommate.
To arrange your financial
assistance:
- Register via the registration
page before the abstract submission deadline (formerly February
22nd, extended to March 1st). If registered before the abstract deadline,
DO NOT SEND IN A REGISTRATION FEE. If you register after the deadline,
you will not recieve support and have to pay the $50 or $100 registration
fee (cheaper if registered by 07 March)..
- Submit your abstract via
the abstract
submission page before the deadline.
- See the accommodations
page to arrange your lodging. Graduate student presenters are expected
to share a hotel room. You can take a room at any hotel but will only
be reimbursed up to $50/student/night. If making reservations at the
Broker Inn, be sure to state that you are a student attending the 32nd
Arctic Workshop.
- When checking in to your
hotel be sure to set up separate receipts for your shared occupancy
room or you risk losing your lodging support.
- You will
receive detailed instructions and reimbursement forms upon arriving
at the Workshop.
- You will pay for your meals
and lodging and be reimbursed. You will be reimbursed for lodging only
if you have your own individual receipt. There is no need to keep food
receipts.
- After submitting your reimbursement
form and lodging receipt, a check will be sent to you within a few weeks.
Graduate Student Party
Pizza and beer will be provided
on Thursday Evening. Location to be determined.
