Analytical advances in petroleomics, lipidomics, and spatial analysis

Wednesday, January 30, 2019, 9:30AM - 10:30AM

Clifford Walters

ExxonMobil Corporation

SEEC room S228 (Sievers Room)

Special seminar describing recent activities and analytical advances in GCxGC-MS, FTIRC-MS, LC-/SFC-MS, MS-imaging, and cryo-AFM for the study of petroleomics and lipidomics in the environment.

Walters will also give the Geological Sciences’ Colloquium later that day: Organic geochemistry at varying scales: From kilometers to ångstroms at 4:00 in BESC Room 180 (main campus).

Walters has conducted work on the modeling of oil generation and reservoir transformations, geomicrobiology, processes of solids formation, shale gas generation, and unconventional petroleum systems. Currently, he is working on the characterization and diagenesis of microbial lipids.
