Full title: The effects of interannual variability on the moraine record with emphasis on the western US

Abstract: I will discuss the influence of interannual variability of summer temperature and annual precipitation on glacier length fluctuation and its effect on the moraine record in terms of paleoclimate extraction and the interpretation of moraine dates. New results showing mean glacial lengths during the Last Glacial Maximum in the Western US will also be presented.
