CWEST: A new partnership between CU and the USGS pushes collaboration, houses Hydro Sciences program

INSTAAR is pleased to announce the establishment of the Center for Water, Earth Science, and Technology (CWEST), which will promote increased collaboration between researchers at the University of Colorado–Boulder and the U.S. Geological Survey. CWEST will provide organizational support for joint USGS-CU research proposals and facilitate the sharing of instrumentation and exchange of ideas. In addition, CWEST is the new home for CU’s Hydrologic Sciences Graduate Program. Education and outreach are important foci for the center.

CWEST builds on more than two decades of partnership between INSTAAR and the USGS, which started with the establishment of a USGS National Research Program laboratory on the east campus of CU near INSTAAR in 1991.
