Web vs. Print use. Logos have been created for either print or web use. For print uses such as posters, use a large image or a raw graphics file and shrink it to fit. Please try to avoid using the web logos (lower resolution) for print or else you may end up with ugly pixelated results.

PowerPoint use. To get good looking images, consider PowerPoint to be somewhere between print and web. Thus, insert a large web image or raw graphics file into PowerPoint and then shrink to fit.

Transparent backgrounds. Some of the gif-format logo files have a transparent background, including those superimposed here on blue and tan rectangles. The files have been designed for use with either dark or light backgrounds. Improper use an image designed for dark backgrounds on a light one (or vice versa), will result in an unflattering irregular color seam along the outer edge of the image.

Downloading. Use standard browser methods to download the images to your computer. From a Macintosh browser, click and hold on the image or control-click on the image and choose "save this image as..." (Netscape Communicator) or "download image to disk" (Internet Explorer). From a PC browser, right mouse click on the image and choose from the menu.

INSTAAR LOGO: LARGE, PRINT USE (Logo Credit)
These image-based files of the standard round INSTAAR logo are one of two main options for those who need sharp images for use with posters, etc (see below raw graphics formats for 2nd option). These files can be easily modified with most applications, including programs such as Illustrator and Word. You will need to shrink the image to the correct size.

INSTAAR LOGO WITH SHADOW: "RAW" GRAPHICS FORMATS, PRINT USE (Logo Credit)
These mostly vector-based files of the standard round INSTAAR logo are one of two main options for those who need sharp images for use with posters, etc (see image-based file option above). The colors, line widths, etc of these files can be easily modified in drawing and image programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Freehand, Fireworks, and CorelDaw. If unsuccessful downloading with a Macintosh, try control-clicking on the link and choosing "save this link as..." and Format> source (Netscape Communicator) or "download link to disk" (Internet Explorer). If unsuccessful with a PC, try right clicking on the link and choosing from the menu.
