Research Interests

The scope of my research is broad and largely cross-disciplinary, although one focus is Arctic sea ice and its role in the climate system. My research has evolved during my career from decadal-scale studies using satellite remote-sensing data, to century-scale studies using long historical time series, and recently extended to millennial-scale studies using paleo proxy reconstructions.  My primary research approach is quantitative data synthesis using advanced time-series techniques.
