Specialty

Cryosphere, mountain hydrology, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), remote sensing.

Research Interests

My research interests are primarily centered around the cryosphere, mountain hydrology and water resources, with an additional focus on the development and deployment of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and remote sensing.  My work at CU will integrate UAS datasets with field measurements to improve our understanding of dynamic ecohydrologic connections and spatiotemporal variability in the Boulder Creek watershed. I am working with Noah Molotch at the CU Earth Lab and the INSTAAR Mountain Hydrology Group. For more information please see my personal webpage at www.oliverwigmore.com

Bio

Oliver Wigmore was a member of the Mountain Hydrology Group at INSTAAR and a Research Associate of Earth Lab from 2016-2018. He was then awarded a two-year New Zealand Postdoctoral Fellowship by The Royal Society Te Apārangi Rutherford Foundation Trust. Wigmore is at Victoria University of Wellington conducting research entitled, “Improving understanding of debris-covered glacier dynamics, Haupapa/Tasman Glacier, New Zealand.”

Wigmore’s research interests are centered around the cryosphere, mountain hydrology and water resources, with an additional focus on the development and deployment of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and remote sensing. While at CU Boulder, Wigmore integrated UAS datasets with field measurements to improve our understanding of dynamic ecohydrologic connections and spatiotemporal variability in the Boulder Creek watershed.
