Bio

I am interested in the intersection of theoretical ecology and applied management. My PhD focused on implementing ecological resilience, a confused and confusing concept, effectively into landscape and population management. Since then, my focus has shifted to restoration, and how science can inform restoration of self-sustaining ecosystems. I am particularly interested in exploring how ecological thresholds and functional ecology can be used to maximize biodiversity outcomes in restoration projects. Other academic topics that I love include science communication, statistics, and how to integrate natural and social sciences to achieve conservation goals.
