Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research has a spiffy new cover design. The first cover photo is by our own Matt Miller, of Green Lake 4 in the Silver Lake watershed of the Front Range. Keen-eyed observers will note that the same view of Green Lake 4 was portrayed in the drawing on previous covers. The photo connects to an article by Eileen Gardner, Diane McKnight, William Lewis, and Matt on the effects of nutrient enrichment on phytoplankton in an alpine lake.
This same issue also includes a paper by John Andrews, Jorunn Hardardottir, and former INSTAARs Joe Stoner and Sarah Principato on the magnetic properties of Holocene sediment in Iceland; and a book review by John Hollin of Deep Freeze: The United States, the International Geophysical Year, and the Origins of Antarctica's Age of Science, by Dian Belanger. This book has just been added to the Library's holdings.
