| The 2008 season ended up being a bit experimental for me.
After becoming a bit tired of the road scene after the past few years,
I decided to get a better feel for endurance racing. My primary goal was
Mike Curiak's Grand
Loop Race, a 360-mile self-supported mountain bike race across the
rugged terrain of western Colorado and eastern Utah. The race went incredibly
well, and I finished in just over 3 days (see photos).
Then I spent a few weeks recovering, dabbled in a bit of road and cross-country
racing, and then started to prepare for cyclocross season (after a 1-month
hiatus in training for field work in the Arctic). This fall I'm again
racing for the Fort Factory Team.
And after December, all training will be geared toward my next big adventure,
the Tour Divide.
