Reserve your room early

Although the deadline for Chico Hot Springs Resort is not until 07 August 2021, we encourage attendees to reserve much earlier. As time passes, your options for room size, type, and price will rapidly diminish.

Sustainability

The Frozen Pasts 5 conference seeks to minimize its environmental impact and carbon footprint. We’re taking actions such as reducing plastic use, encouraging recycling/composting, and supporting green restaurants like the Mammoth Hotel Dining Room. We're also buying carbon offsets to mitigate the impact of our shuttles and afternoon field trips.

Our venue at Chico Hot Springs has a serious commitment to sustainability including using geothermal heat for its pool, buildings, and greenhouses.

Chico Hot Springs - Sustainability

Please check with your university or institution about whether they will pay to offset your carbon emissions (plane, train, car, etc). If not, consider paying the modest cost yourself (ie $30 extra for a roundtrip flight from Washington DC to Bozeman). See well-respected carbon offset organizations like Myclimate.org for estimating costs and making payments. Check out websites like Act on Climate to learn about other impactful climate actions you can take, like speaking out and conserving energy.
