Please join us for the first Joint Earth Seminar Series, cohosted by INSTAAR, ATOC, Geography, and Geology.
Dr. Curtis Walker of NCAR's Research Applications Laboratory will outline the broad needs and opportunities for weather decision support at the intersection of meteorology and transportation through past collaborations with the Nebraska and Colorado Departments of Transportation (DOT). He will discuss the quantification of weather event severity, DOT weather forecasting and operational needs to promote safety, leveraging artificial intelligence to support future connected/automated vehicle implementation, and broad multimodal infrastructure needs for future climate challenges.
