Mark F. Meier Fund set up to honor the memory of leading glaciologist, former INSTAAR director

We lost a valued friend and colleague when Mark Meier passed away in November 2012. One of the nation's most prominent glaciologists, Mark was a leader in the study of glacier melt's effect on rising on sea levels. As director of INSTAAR from 1985 to 1994, he steered the institute toward broad, interdisciplinary problems of global change.

Those wishing to honor Mark's memory with a donation might consider:

The Mark F. Meier Memorial Fund, established to support INSTAAR in Mark's memory.

Program support for the Takács Quartet, of which Mark was a long-time supporter.

Both funds are maintained through the University of Colorado Foundation.
