Geochemistry, recent paleoclimate, Cenozoic oceanography, climate variability of arid regions, desert dust, earth history.

My research focuses on measuring stable isotopes (including clumped oxygen isotopes) and noble gases (particularly Helium) to reconstruct records of (1) high-resolution continental climate variability on relatively recent timescales such as the Late Quaternary Period and the last few millennia and (2) evolution of seawater chemistry and temperature through 'deep time' such as the Cretaceous and Cenozoic.

In addition to measuring and producing paleoclimatic and paleooecanographic data, my research aims to synthesize the data with other types of proxy measurements as well as climate and oceanographic models. I collaborate with meteorologists, modelers, climate and ocean dynamicists to construct model-proxy comparisons from which we can glean information regarding important aspects of the climate and oceanographic systems.
