Snow and mountain hydrology

Research Interests

My dissertation topic is about understanding the distribution of snow with the goal of providing water managers more comprehensive maps of the snow water equivalent. I am particularly interested in remote sensing based techniques since this provides the only spatially explicit observations of the earth. The challenge of analyzing large remote sensing datasets and combining these with other data sets has fueled my interest geospatial analyses. I’m interested in facilitating large data analyses for public and private entities so that decisions can be more data-motivated. I am particularly interested in novel approaches for understanding hydrologic systems.
