Intersections of urban health, climate change and community capacity building.
Ivan J. Ramírez is a geographer whose research focuses on the intersections of urban health, climate change and community capacity building. As an avid climate-society researcher, his scholarship strives to elucidate how communities interact with the many facets of climate, and how those interactions ultimately influence the health and social vulnerability of populations and places. Dr. Ramírez has been a research associate with the Consortium for Capacity Building/INSTAAR at University of Colorado Boulder since 2009. He was previously an assistant professor of environmental health at Eugene Lang College, The New School in NYC.
