Brilliant new digital map of Antarctica

Researchers from the USGS, NASA, NSF, and BAS have stitched together 1,000 true-color Landsat photos to produce the most detailed map of Antarctica to date: Landsat Image Mosaic of Antarctica. The 15-meter resolution data set is freely available and can be used with virtual globe software such as Google Earth. A BBC News story has more details.
