sightings:
- Tracks -
- mice/vole, snowshoe hare, possible
cottontail?, weasels, coyote, moose
- Sign -
- scat, nibble marks, tooth marks, holes
under the snow, caches/middens
- Notable sightings -
- Followed some snowshoe hare tracks to
the actual animal (some students got some
good pictures/video)
- Found a squirrel trail with blood drops,
every track had a few blood drops with it
- Backtracked the trail and found the
transition from blood drops every track
to no blood drops at all, but didn't see
any predator tracks at that point, so it
didn't look like an attack. Might
have just injured its foot on a
stick/rock, the blood drops were pretty
small
