At check in, each attendee will recieve a high resolution version of this file on a USB thumb drive. Those who've ordered a print version will also recieve their printed high-resolution volume.

Fri. Eve Reception

We will host a pre-Workshop Reception on the evening of Friday 14 March. There will be light food. You can check in or register too. Location: INSTAAR, RL-1 Building, room 269. 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

Friday evening or Saturday morning

Check in or register during the Reception on Friday evening or before the start of the conference on Saturday morning. Upon check in, you will receive a packet of materials.

Giving a talk?

If possible, please load your PowerPoint presentations onto our mac or PC computer during the Reception Friday evening. Although there are additional opportunities to upload files on Saturday morning and during breaks, these time slots are short.

Giving a poster?

Please put up your poster as early as possible, preferably Saturday morning. And take it down at the end of the Workshop on Sunday afternoon. Everyone will be given a poster time and location when you check-in. Thanks.

Hang with your peers

An informal pizza party for all students will be provided on Saturday Evening, 15 March (time and location to be announced).

Sat. morning - Sun. afternoon: Science sessions

The oral sessions and poster sessions will be held in MacAllister. The sessions will start on Saturday morning and finish by 4 pm on Sunday (exact time will be posted after the abstract deadline).

The number and types of sessions will be determined after the abstract deadline.

Theme

“ARCTIC'S NEW NORMAL -
shifting environmental baselines over decades to millennia and comparisons with the Antarctic”

Please consider contributing to the optional Workshop theme by tying your presentation to changing environmental conditions in the Arctic. Also encouraged are documenting changes in and around Antarctica and comparing responses between the two polar regions.

Sessions

There are no a priori formalized topics beyond the above theme. The program will be organized in sessions developed from the abstracts submitted for presentation as well as special sessions promoted by attendees.

Special Sessions?

The Workshop encourages attendees to propose special sessions and asks that they gather at least several collaborators and colleagues to join them. Please email us with your ideas.

Group Meetings?

The Workshop can help arrange meetings that might precede or follow the Workshop. Please email us about your needs.
