Student Support

Student participation is a vital component of our Workshop.

STATUS - CLOSED

The deadline for student support has passed. Late registration, however, remains open.

Assistance

Financial assistance is available for a limited number of students from any country thanks to support from INSTAAR. Submit your abstract early; first come, first served.

Students will be provided with the following:

  • Reduced registration fee
  • Abstract submittal (Presenters only)
  • Reception on Friday evening
  • Lunches on Saturday and Sunday
  • Snacks and drinks during breaks
  • Wireless internet guest pass
  • Saturday Evening Party (open to all workshop participants)

Please note that support does NOT cover any travel expenses (flights, shuttle, etc) or hotel costs. You might want to check whether your home institution can help defray such expenses. We encourage students to share a room. If you need help finding a roommate to reduce expenses, please email ArcticWS@colorado.edu. For more hotel info, see Lodging »

What to submit?

New or previously presented research

Please consider presenting works-in-progress rather than completed studies. Your colleagues can provide feedback or share data while it still makes a difference. Most students will submit original research, but submitting a poster or talk that you have already presented at another conference is fine too... as long as it does not violate any agreement you made with the other conference.

First author or co-author

Making a presentation of a collaborative study for which you are not first author is also fine, as long as you made a substantial contribution and are familiar with all aspects of the study.

A unique study

We will not accept two different attendees presenting the same study. For example, one person cannot show a poster if the same study was also given as a talk.
